TRANSFORMATIVE SUPERVISION WORKSHOP - 19TH FEBRUARY, 2019

The School of Nursing and Midwifery of the College of Health Sciences, University of Ghana had a workshop on "Transformative Supervision' on the 19th February, 2018.

INTERACTION WITH NURSING LEADERS – AFRICAN REGENT HOTEL, ACCRA (18TH FEBRUARY, 2019)

On the February 18, 2019 and prior to the Transformative Supervision Workshop, Nursing Leaders met and had interactions that was geared at promoting efficient nursing studies and practices.

SHORT COURSES TO ENHANCE EXCELLENCE IN NURSING AND MIDWIFERY PRACTICE

The School of Nursing and Midwifery, with approval from Ghana Health Services and Nursing and Midwifery Council just completed a five day short courses which began from the Monday 28th January, 2019 to Friday 1st February, 2019 at the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

GHANA NURSE LEADERS PROGRAM PHASE II

The Ministry of Health through the Ghana Health Service, University of Ghana School of Nursing and Midwifery (UG_SONM), and the New York University Rory Meyers College of Nursing have signed a partnership agreement to begin Phase II of the Ghana Nurse Leaders Program (GNLP) which aims at improving nursing and midwifery practice in Ghana as well as empowering nurses and midwives to be agents of change.

PINK OCTOBER: “ALL FOR THE BREAST!!, ALL FOR YOU!!”

Breast cancer is the most occurring cancer in women worldwide and even more severe in developing countries like Ghana. Breast cancer is curable when detected early but very fatal when it advances.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN MIDWIFERY PROGRAMME

The School of Nursing and Midwifery of the College of Health Sciences, University of Ghana invites applications for admission into the Bachelor of Science in Midwifery programme for the 2018/2019 academic year.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DEAN'S CAPACITY BUILDING SESSION III: "BUILDING A BUSINESS PLAN"

On May 5, 2018, Dr. Lydia Aziato and Dr. Roger Atinga of the School of Nursing and Midwifery (SONM) and the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) respectively facilitated a seminar which was dubbed “BUILDING A BUSINESS PLAN” as part of the Deans Capacity Building Session III.

HIGHLIGHTS OF CAPACITY BUILDING SESSION 1 AND SESSION II:"WRITING A WINNING CV" AND "ELEMENTS OF A SUCCESSFUL INTERVIEW"

Two faculty members of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Dr. Lydia Aziato and Dr. Mary Ani-Amponsah facilitated a seminar which was dubbed “WRITING A WINNING CV” on April 14, 2018 at SONM Auditorium.

Ghana Laureate Class of 2018, University of Alberta - Canada, had clinical experience in Ghana.

A group of twelve landed in Ghana three months ago and it certainly does not feel like they have been here for that long, but at the same time it does.

COMING TOGETHER: STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN GHANA AND CANADA TO ADDRESS MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH

The University of Alberta, faculty of nursing and the School of Nursing and Midwifery (SONM) win The Canadian Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee (QES) Advanced Scholars Scholarship. The Scholarship is for the period of 2017-2020 with a total amount of $500,000.00. The University of Alberta project lead is Prof. Magdalena Sophia Richter (Solina) Richter and the University of Ghana lead is Dr. Lydia Aziato.
