MIDWIFERY RESEARCH AND EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT
The University of Ghana School of Nursing and Midwifery (SoNM) received funding from the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) to support Midwifery Research and Education Development (MIDRED). The project was awarded under the auspices of the Norwegian Program for Capacity Development in Higher Education and Research for Development (NORHEDII).
The project partners include Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet), as the administrative and coordinating partner, and University of Birzeit in Palestine as another implementation partner. Others include the University of Dundee, Scotland, and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The project has awarded scholarships to 24 students in the MPhil Midwifery program and two students in the PhD in Nursing program. It has also supported the development of PhD in Midwifery curriculum to be rolled out shortly.
